Inside Climate News reported on October 19 that a FracTracker Alliance/Public Citizen analysis found 35 permitting actions after Governor Greg Abbott announced a data-center pause, including stormwater coverage approvals and emissions certifications. Abbott's office says no permits were approved and that the pause covers approval, not processing. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality says staff screen pending applications to identify those subject to the directive and pause those applications.
