Trump sued the BBC for $10 billion over a documentary edit the broadcaster acknowledged and apologized for. Now BBC lawyers say the plaintiff canceled an agreed October 16 deposition and offered no date before discovery closes December 18, citing matters of national importance. They asked the court to compel him; Trump's lawyers repeated the defamation allegation but did not address the scheduling reason.
Apparently the lawsuit includes unlimited damages, seven BBC depositions and one plaintiff whose calendar is available only after the return window closes. Discovery has discovered voicemail.
