Nigel Farage has finally found a journalist who understands Nigel Farage. Congratulations to Nigel Farage.
Reform UK has launched the Reformer, a national paper whose only credited reporter is the party leader, according to the Guardian. The front page features Farage with a labrador. The labrador appears to have landed the opposition slot.
Reform is recruiting qualified journalists who can deliver original scoops. The first edition does not appear to contain any exclusive news, the Guardian reports; party insiders say it was rushed and future editions will have more. Applicants can therefore demonstrate initiative simply by finding a story somebody other than their employer is in.
Farage says the paper will prevent the media distorting his message. One headline records his Clacton byelection as Farage 22,239, Establishment 0. The main parties did not stand; his principal opponent was Count Binface. It takes a particular editorial talent to beat a man with a bin on his head and file it as the fall of the ruling order.
