Axios reports that the administration raised the FY2026 refugee cap from 7,500 to 17,500. Of 16,292 refugees admitted that completed fiscal year, 16,287 came from South Africa. Its reported FY2027 policy again prioritizes Afrikaners. These are admissions-policy choices, not a new capacity measurement.
The cap is not one-size-fits-all. That is the policy.
